Janie taught high school in Winston Salem and Pinehurst, NC, and earned her B.S. degree in zoology from UNC - Chapel Hill. She moved to Venice to be closer to her daughter. Janie enjoys being able to be outdoors all year round. Her outdoor activities, include swimming, beach yoga, aquafit, fishing, kayaking, tennis, and pickle ball. Janie enjoys playing chess, oil painting, Zumba and getting to know her neighbors who have welcomed her into the community.
As a former teacher, Janie Shoaf is an agent who understands the need to be educated and well informed, which for her clients means the difference between making a questionable real estate decision and a wise one. With over twenty years as a chemistry teacher her skills have been an asset in building her real estate business. Helping people is simply second nature for Janie. Knowing that selling a home is a stressful situation, she felt being able to alleviate unnecessary burdens by serving as an honest, conscientious and uplifting resource. When she retired from teaching, Janie joined Allen Tate Realtors in North Carolina where she began building her business and expertise for four years. Janie's business has grown by assisting sellers in making certain and informed decisions to achieve the highest value on their properties. She has also enjoyed guiding buyers to the home and neighborhood that makes them truly happy.
